The momentum of the Mine Closure Conference series remains unabated and continues to be run annually around the globe. Since the inception of the series in Perth in 2006, the industry has vastly changed, with transformations to the financial climate, regulatory controls, technological instruments and, most notably, the appreciation of community engagement. These conference proceedings provide information and ideas on many mine closure disciplines that will be of interest, and useful to, planners, designers, contractors, operators, owners and regulators.
Given the downturn in the global resource sector and the increasing need to achieve sustainable closure, the topic mine closure is more relevant than ever.
These peer-reviewed proceedings feature 52 papers which comprise information on key areas critical for mine closure. Accompanying these proceedings is a CD featuring colour figures from the publication, as supplied by the authors.
